The script is written by local screenwriter Sonia Louise
Armstrong
whose feature film 'The Turner Affair' has been distributed
internationally.
Director Peter Rogers is a veteran of over 30 years in
the film industry with 32 feature credits to his name. Producer
is Peter Hough, one of
the emerging new talents on the project.
Around
90% of the cast and crew are Sunshine Coast locals which proves the
number and depth of talent here on the Coast.
Leading lady Louise Birgan is
NIDA trained and her love interest in the film is played by another local
James Peregrine Galbraith who has appeared in the UK television series
'The Bill' as well as the battle scene in Mel Gibson's 'Braveheart'.
The short film is a light-hearted comedy/drama about a
matchmaking postie who deliberatley delivers the right mail into the
'wrong' letterboxes in order to match up lonely people in her
street. When she falls for a handsome man moving into one of the houses,
she begins to pen her own anonymous love letters. She finally finds
the courage to approach him at his home but there is a surprise waiting
for her!
Filmed in Flaxton in the beautiful Sunshine Coast
hinterland over 2 weekends in April this year, the film is due for release
in August 2005.
Garden of Love will be entered into film festivals
nationally and internationally and approaches will be made to QANTAS
and SBS.
