New policy

Terms & Conditions

1. Regarding the introduction of set up fees - Current listings will not incur any new fee.The site is still free to be on with no back payable fees for existing listings.

2. Highlighted listings are 'text only' listings. For graphics or ads please contact the webmaster.

3. All listings, including 'featured' listings, will appear in alphabetical order within their category.

4. We reserve the right to add, change, modify or subdivide categories. This may need to be done when a category becomes too large for one page. Categories may be subdivided alphabetically, regionally or both, if necessary.

5. We reserve the right to remove participants giving misleading information in relation to the nature of their business and its relevance to this site and the music industry.

6. Sydney Music Web endeavours to act fairly to all participants and sponsors, but acknowledges that the appearance, format and layout of this site will most probably change as it grows. Rules, terms and  conditions may also be added or changed as necessary.

7. Information of participants on this site is for use on this website only and shall not be traded or sold to any third party.

8. Buy applying for a listing you are agreeing to all of the above.

9. List applicants may change there contact details as necessary and within reason with no extra charge. 

10. It is the responsibility of listees to notify the webmaster of any changes that may effect their listing such as the break up of a band, the closure of a shop, new website etc.

New policy for applications 2004 

There is now a setup fee for all new listings.

*Regretably a setup fee has now become neccessary due to the running costs of the website and the time involved in it's on going maintainence.
We were hoping for more support through inquiries for 'enhanced' (paid for) listings and the possibility of sponsorship through advertising. There is currently only a handfull of such listings on the site and so far no offers from poterntial sponsors. An enormous amount of time and effort has willingly been given in creating and maintaining Sydney Music Web since it's inception two and a half years ago, but the on going costs of hosting and the number of new applications (around 10 a week) plus the numerous requests for changes to listings and other general inquiries have forced us to review the application process.*

As a community music website it is, and has been, well patronised by musicians and non musicians alike, in fact, anyone wishing to book a band, record their music, learn to play, buy an instrument or use any other service listed on any one of the 50 pages available on the site. To this end the website is doing exactly what it was created to do. It is helping people work in a time when the livelyhood of musicians has been heavily effected by many factors, not the least of which is noise restrictions on venues. We shall contineue to maintain the site and listings are still free. There is just a fee for setting up new listings.

The setup fee is $25 for a single business listing, $15 for a band listing and $10 for a musician's listing. This is a one off payment. Your listing stays there as long as the website is up and running. SMW  already been going since 1999.
